The Digital Dental Lab Behind Your Scanner

Whatever chairside scanner your practice runs, our workflow starts where its export ends: secure case upload, design review by a technician, and fabrication in our own three labs. No couriers waiting on impression trays, no cases lost in transit.

Compatible Scanners

  • Any STL/OBJ export

What Your Practice Gains With a Digital Lab Partner

The practical wins of working with a digital dental lab are measured in chair time. Digital cases skip the shipping leg on the way in, so fabrication starts the day you upload. Scans carry more usable detail than many dental impressions survive transit with, which shows up as fewer adjustment minutes at seating. And when a question arises, the technician looks at your actual scan on screen while you talk, not at a memory of it. Practices tell us the third one changes the relationship most: the lab stops being a shipping address and becomes a colleague with a screen open.

  • Fabrication starts the day you upload
  • Fewer adjustment minutes at the chair
  • A technician who sees what you see

Why Dentists Trust Our Digital Backbone

We did not bolt a portal onto an analog shop last year. This digital dental laboratory has run CAD/CAM production since 2010 through our V2R division, added a direct Straumann connection in 2016, and now routes digital cases across all three labs. The equipment changed many times since 1994; the habit of a technician checking every case before production never did. That combination, current cad cam dental lab technology with senior benches behind it, is what separates a digital dental lab you rely on from a portal you merely upload to.

New accounts: we respond within 24 hours, once your documents are complete. Pickup & nationwide delivery available.

Open a Lab Account
Do I need a specific scanner to join the program?

No. If your intraoral scanner exports STL or OBJ files, we can take the case; that covers the systems found in most U.S. practices today. At onboarding we check your exact model, set up the smoothest export path, and confirm everything with a test file before a patient is ever involved.

We still take conventional impressions. Are we excluded?

Not at all. Many of our accounts run hybrid: dental impressions for some procedures, scans for others. Send trays the way you always have while your team grows into the scanner at its own pace. The program adds a digital lane; it does not close the analog one.

Is a digital dental lab near me better than one in another state?

With digital cases, proximity stops mattering on the way in: your scan arrives in minutes regardless of geography. What matters is the return leg, and with three labs shipping nationwide by UPS and FedEx, delivery is scheduled against your appointment book. Distance is a shipping detail now, not a quality factor.

My team has never sent a digital case. How hard is the switch?

Easier than the first crown prep your assistants ever learned. Onboarding is guided: we connect the scanner, your team uploads a test case, and a real person walks them through the portal. The first patient case is reviewed together, and after two or three, the workflow usually feels like it was always there.

What Makes a Digital Dental Lab Actually Digital

Plenty of labs accept an emailed scan and print a model, and call that a digital workflow. A working digital dental lab is something else: file intake with automated checks, CAD design under a technician's eye, milling and 3D printing on calibrated equipment, and a case record that stays digital from upload to delivery scan. We built that backbone through V2R starting in 2010, long before scanners were standard chairside equipment, and refined it on thousands of cases since. The result is a cad cam dental laboratory where the process is digital but the judgment never is.

From Intraoral Scanner to Seated Restoration

The route is short and visible. Your intraoral scanner exports the prep, antagonist, and bite; the portal takes each stl file dental teams upload and runs format checks on the spot. A technician reviews margins and clearance on screen, flags anything questionable before design, and releases the case to production. You can follow the status without phoning, and if we call you, it is because something about the scan deserves your eyes, not ours alone. Digital does not mean automatic at this digital dental lab; it means the checking happens earlier, while it is still cheap to act on.

Scanner Compatibility Without the Fine Print

Our compatibility promise is deliberately boring: open formats first. Whether the operatory runs an iTero scanner, a 3Shape TRIOS, or another system entirely, what we need is the STL or OBJ export nearly every current device offers. Practices comparing a trios scanner against other hardware ask us which to buy; our honest answer is that the digital dental lab on the other end matters more than the badge on the wand. Buy the scanner your team will actually use daily, and we will meet its files at onboarding, verified with a test case.

Onboarding Your Practice Team, Not Just Your Hardware

A scanner program fails at the front desk before it fails in the operatory, so ours onboards people. We schedule a session with the assistants and front office, connect the export path, and walk the first upload through together. Your team gets a named contact at the digital dental lab who already knows your setup, not a ticket queue. The 3shape scanner in operatory two and the older unit in operatory four can both feed the same account, and the portal keeps every case, Rx, and shipment in one view your whole team shares.

One Digital Dental Lab, Three Buildings

Digital case routing is how one account gives you three labs. Uploads flow to Rosemead, Lakewood, or Round Rock depending on workload and specialty bench, under one quality standard and one case record, and the account behaves identically no matter which building answers. For implant work, the Straumann connection we established in 2016 streamlines component data, and a milled cad cam abutment can be designed against your implant restorations planning from the same scan set. Your practice sees none of the routing, only the outcome: consistent work, wherever the mill happened to stand.

Digital Cases Beyond Crowns

The program is not a crown pipeline with a portal in front. Removable teams send us complete arches: a 3shape digital denture workflow case moves through the portal as easily as a single unit, and files from a 3d printing denture base digital workflow land at the same removables bench that has set teeth by hand for decades. Crowns, bridges, appliances, and the whole crown and bridge portfolio ride the same rails. Join the digital program, or open a lab account first and go digital one case at a time.
