Full Cast Crowns
Full Cast Crowns: Cast Metal Lab Fabrication
Monolithic cast metal crowns in high noble, noble, and predominantly base alloys. When space is tight and function is heavy, a full cast crown is still the restoration that outlasts them all.

What Is a Full Cast Crown?
A full cast crown is a complete-coverage restoration cast entirely in metal, with no porcelain layer to chip or delaminate. Cast alloys range from predominantly base metal through noble to high noble yellow gold alloys, the wording you know from the crown and bridge fee descriptors. Because cast metal stays strong in thin sections, a full cast metal crown works where ceramics run out of room: minimal occlusal clearance, short clinical crowns, heavy function. Margins burnish cleanly, and polished metal stays gentle on the opposing enamel.
When a Full Cast Crown Is the Right Call
Think of second molars outside the smile line, bruxers who have already destroyed a ceramic unit, and preps where every tenth of a millimeter of reduction hurts. In those situations a full cast high noble metal crown trades esthetics for a service life that porcelain rarely matches, which is why the indication has survived every material generation since we opened in 1994.

Open a Lab AccountZirconia vs gold crown: which should I prescribe?
Zirconia wins the esthetic conversation; a gold-type full cast crown wins on thin-section strength and wear behavior against the opposing dentition. For a second molar with limited clearance under heavy load, cast metal remains the pragmatic choice. In the smile zone, zirconia or lithium disilicate takes over.
Full cast high noble metal crown vs porcelain: when metal?
Choose full cast when reduction is minimal, the crown sits outside the esthetic zone, or a porcelain unit has already failed under parafunction. Porcelain-based options make sense the moment the patient sees the tooth when smiling; our technicians flag borderline cases on the Rx.
Which alloy classes do you cast?
All three descriptor classes: predominantly base metal, noble metal, and high noble metal up to yellow gold alloys. Specify the class on the Rx the same way your fee schedule words it, and we confirm the exact alloy before casting.
How is a full cast crown priced?
Per unit plus the daily alloy value of the metal used, which is itemized transparently on the invoice. Request our current crown and bridge fee schedule when opening an account; patient pricing stays in the practice's hands.
A Crown Lab That Still Casts Metal Properly
Casting is becoming a lost craft, and we refuse to lose it. The same bench that fits zirconia and presses ceramics at Reliable Dental Studio still waxes, invests, casts, and mirror-polishes metal crowns the way the trade taught it: controlled sprue design, clean divesting, margins finished under magnification. A full cast crown dental case gets the same digital prep check as every other unit, then it takes the classic route through the casting room.
Full Cast Crowns for Practices in All 50 States
Whether your fee schedule reads crown full cast noble metal or high noble, the case reaches us the same way: through the portal as a scan or via prepaid UPS/FedEx shipping from anywhere in the country. Turnaround is 7–10 working days; rush is not available for this product line. Send the next cast crown, and if the rest of the arch needs ceramics, our e.max crown lab and zirconia bench sit on the same floor and work under the same Rx.
