A monolithic zirconia bridge maximizes strength and is the safe choice for posterior spans and bruxers. Layered and multi-layer zirconia bring translucency for the esthetic zone, at some cost in flexural strength. Many cases combine both logics: monolithic strength posteriorly, layered esthetics anteriorly. Note your priority on the Rx and we will design accordingly.
How many units can a zirconia bridge span?
That depends on abutment distribution, connector dimensions, and the patient's occlusion; we evaluate these factors during CAD design. Send the case and your treatment plan, and if the span or connector cross-sections approach critical limits, the responsible technician discusses alternatives with you before milling.
Do you check preparations before milling?
Yes. Every scan or impression is reviewed by a technician: margins, path of insertion, occlusal clearance, connector space. If anything would compromise the result, you hear from us before design, not after the bridge does not seat.
What about shade and characterization?
Specify the shade on the Rx and add photos for demanding cases. Monolithic bridges are stained and glazed to your target shade; layered designs receive hand-built ceramics for individual characterization. For smile-zone cases, involve us early. Planning shade before milling beats correcting it after.
